besides Counters and some TV related HW everything else is done by Software loaded drivers (objects). In the Propeller World things are different. In the Arduino World you have Hardware for I2C, serial, SPI whatever, but depending on your needs you might need different Versions of the Arduino's, say one HW serial else you need Softserial, sometimes the Hardware shares Pins, so you can either have SPI or yo can have whatever, CAN bus. There are some common practices, so most objects have a start and stop method, some (like FullDuplexSerial) will start a PASM driver in a different COG. Need serial, plug in some serial object, need I2C plug in a I2C object, need TV plug in a TV object.
